1. The difference between tradition media and social media is that traditional media such as newspapers, magazines, etc. cost money, requires people to drive to a store or pick it up somewhere, but social media is free, and all done on the computer or tech device, and can be used at the luxury of your home, examples are facebook, aim, myspace, and etc.
2. Writing on the web is different from writing in traditional media because you have to maintain people's attention by lowering the amount of words, using more imagry, and making a compeling headline that will attract reader's to your article, for example the same article on a newspaper will have alot more details on there than an article on the web, because a newspaper has alot more space on paper and it also costs money.
3. Social media applications such as twitter, facebook, texting, and etc. influences how people receive their information because it makes it alot easier to find exactly what you want to know compared to a newspaper, or magazine where you have to actually search for what you want yourself, example is websites use sub-headlines to inform reader's where the information is compared to a newspaper where it only has one headline.
4. Social media is changing in the "istribution revolution", because people see the web as a more efficient way to receive news and alot more convnient than an actual piece of paper. "traffic on the wall street journal homepage, for instance, has exploded 250 percent in the past two years" according to Murray.
